MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ALL THAT
Hello all
sorry it has been so long since my last message, but the holidays are upon me and I find lots of time to catch up.
Baden and his family left on the 21st to spend the holidays on the north island with their family, on the 19th to the 21st weekend me and 3 other mates rented motorcycles and went on a trip around the south end if the island, it was a pretty wet ride but still was good. rained the entire day saturday and of course we never thought to get rain gear (which was free)! could only do 1000km or they would have charged us extra so we couldnt get everywhere we wanted to but is was still fun.
Christmas was a pretty lonely few days, i had to feed animals, move electric fence and shift cattle around in the paddock. Oh and grub thistles in about 5 paddocks in the 30 degree heat, but it all payed off because me and another mate were invited to another trainee's host family's christmas tea so we got in our nice clothes grabbed a bottle of wine each and headed to their house. Most of their family was there so it was really fun and they were extremely nice, we stayed up most of the night playing cards with some of the cousins and drinking, by the time we were done we had drank all the wine and beer in the house and were far too cheery to drive home so we all stayed in the trainee hut which was quite "cozy" haha
I dont have to return back to work untill the tueday of the new year so most of the trainees are going to the lake town of Wanka and spending a few days there which will be fun, I hope to do a good trip and catch milford sound and fiordland on the way and the glaciers on the west coast.
Ive been here for 3 months already and its going by far too fast I think, maybe depending how harvest goes in the fall i might stay a bit longer in NZ and in Oz too if I can.....maybe making it home for next christmas im not sure weel see.
