Woke up hungover this morning with Sophie still wearing the granny nighty that she wore for the fancy dress. After a cold shower to wake us up, we headed to a Bushmans museum where it showed us how people made a living on the coast by farming deer. Then did a quick interactive tour around the museum with some practcal jokes in there aswell. We got back on the bus to hear the winners of the fancy dress competition. In 3rd place was a guy dressed as a printer, 2nd place was Emily dressed as pin up girl (she won free pics to a bungee jump), and 1st place was me and Sophie who won a free canyon swing! Which is said to be the best activity in New Zealand. Everyone said they voted for us because we were in character all night. Sophie's granny name was Betty and I was Bertie. We then got to Franz Josef and did a quick walk to see the glacier from a distance.

Up early this morning to do a full day ice hike on the glacier. Got our packed lunch ready only to find out it was cancelled due to heavy rain. It was absolutley pouring it down and we were really disappointed it was cancelled as it was one of the things we wanted to do. Wasn't fit to do anything so we were bored all day watching rubbish T.V with Jeremy Kyle being the highlight.

Stopped off at Lake Matheson to get the perfect mirror reflection of Mount Cook - although it wasn't perfect as the weather was still grim. The weather was more like rainy England. It was a nice walk around the lake as we were stuck inside all day the day before. We carried on the trip over Haasts pass where the scenery was gorgeous. We stopped of at a waterfall and an another lake to take some pictures. We got back on the bus and the driver showed us a dvd of the canyon swing. It looked scary but lots of fun. Me and Sophie put our names down as we had won one ticket and the girls put there names down too. We arrived in a lake side town called Wanaka. The sunshine had finally arrived so I went for a swim as the girls sunbathed. I then went for my first haircut since I left England and went back the hostel to have a BBQ. That night we chilled out and watched anchorman and ate chocolate. M x
