The flight from Melbourne to New Zealand took about three hours and just the last 20 minutes were over New Zealand but the view was amazing. I had the luck that we flew over Mount Cook (without clouds) the scenery was amazing. I wanted to travel again but first i needed to find a job and earn some more money. My first hostel was really nice. I opened a bank account and applied for a tax file number on my first day and started to look for a job. I applied for lots of different kind of jobs, handed in CV at bars, shops, cafes and so on. I got a job after a few days but it was labour work. Not what i hoped for but better than nothing. I manly worked the last weeks building up big show tents and pulling them down again. The first four weeks the weather was amazing, always between 25 and 30 degrees and blue sky. It got a bit colder about 2 weeks ago. The weather is changing from day to day or within a few minutes. We had a few more days with blue sky and 30 degrees but also 15 degrees
and rain.
I'm living in a little hut i share with a mate at the moment. We just pay 120$ a week so that is 60 each. Pretty cheap and the hut is nice but the kitchen and bathroom and stuff not really. Well we just pay half of that what a normal hostel would cost so it is alright. I didn't really do much here, when i am working i cook afterwards, watch a movie and go to bed. We are normally just lazy on the weekends. Going to the park, had a few bbq, went out and been surfing but nothing special. It is definitely time to go traveling again, as i've been in melbourne 3 weeks and just here in christchurch. I should have enough money saved up for the rest of my journey now so i am leaving on saturday. I'm heading south first to go to lake takepo, wanaka, queenstown and te anau where i will do a 4 day hiking trip. After that traveling up the west coast and then going to the north island but i wont spend a lot of time there. At the end of april my flight is going
to singapore. I have another 7 weeks to travel in asia. I guess i will go north from Singapore to Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and back to Thailand. I'm flying back from Bangkok and i will be back in Germany on the 8th of June (just in time for the worldcup and good weather for beachvolleyball 😉 ). This time i will travel by bus as I didn't find anyone who I could have rented a van with, well I guess i could have found a random person over some internet comunities but i didn't really wanted to as I travelled 5 months. It although gets really cold at nights and if it rains it's just not a lot of fun with a van and i guess it will rain in the next month as the summer is over now.... Anyway i can't wait to leave, one more day of work and maybe some last beers with all the people i lived with here tomorrow night 😊
