My 28th Birthday!! It was our 3rd day in Christchurch and we planned on taking an 8 a.m. coach to Queenstown. We were expecting to arrive in Queenstown around 4 p.m. just in time for the first night of the Winter Festival. Nick and I dragged our backpacks to the bus station to get on the coach, however the weather changed our plans. A snowstorm moved through the area the night before in and around Queenstown, which turned the roads icy. The bad weather caused the bus company to cancel the trip to Queenstown. We checked back into the YHA Hostel for another night and began to make plans for a night on the town for my birthday.
