We had a wander round Christchurch centre before heading out over the Southern Alps to Greymouth via the Trans Alpine Highway, billed as one of the world's great drives, with quite a few photo stops along the way.

There's not much going on in Greymouth but we went on Monteith's brewery tour, took an hour before we got the main event - tasting. 7 beers, and feeling it at 11am in the morning! Vanit got the short straw and drove up to Punakaiki to see Pancake Rocks.
