Wellington
a view of the city from the port. English With a quick jump (4 hours of flight!) here I'm in Wellington.
It was not easy but I finally managed it!
Indeed I was close to miss the flight!
I wrote done that it was leaving at 15, but it was at 14!
I have to thank the fact that it was a public holiday in Aussie and the bus was running with less frequency and I had to be at the airport at 13!
This was not enough!
While I was doing the check-in (of course very close to the closing of the flight) the I was asked about my return ticket from New Zealand (NZ).
If you don't have one, you are not allowed to enter the country!
OF course I didn't book anything...
So I had to book this ticket as well before the closing of the flight!
Eventually I managed it (the flight was delated by 15 min...I wonder why!)!
So I was landing in Wellington at 00.40 without a booking of any hostel....of course!
I got a lift to the city from the lady that was next to me in the plane.
In addition, when I told her that I didn't have any "bed" for
TE PAPA museum: a maori Marea
It is something like a welcome place where the local tribe used (and use) to receive guest. the night, she invited me to sleep at her place!
What a luck!
So, the day after I was visiting Wellington, nothing special (I would say a "bounch of shops") except the museum "TE PAPA" with a nice section on the Maori history.
Particularly interesting the reconstruction of several Maori homes with nice explanations.
I decided to rent a car and to do a tour of the isle for about a week, this time alone since I could not find anybody that was willing to go around "just"for a week!
As a result I have done something like 2500Km.
I must say that NZ has horrible roads with funny limits!
On the motorway (they call it like this even if it has only one lane...) is 100 as on the small roads in the countryside, bah!
On the motorways you fall asleep, while on the others you risk your life!
I was visiting several places like New Plymouth, close to the Edgomd mountain (vulcano), than heading towards Auckland (I didn't stop there...), Stopping in BAY OF ISLANDS, NINENTY MILES BEACH in the far North, ROTURUA and the TANGARIRO NATIONAL PARK. At the end of the week (of
SURF Highway
On the way to New Plymouth rental not the actual day which I have no idea about....) back again to Wellington.
My impression are the following (this sentence sounds very italian...):
Beatiful places, but nothing stunnig, except the geyersa near Rotua and TANGARIRO NATIONAL PARK, which deserves a separate entry in the blog!
You can have an idea from the pictures!
Italiano ciao!
Io ovviamente cado dalle nuvole!

Baci baci
