Hey all.

Just a quick update. After posting the other day, we promptly walked down to the beach just over a cliff on the side of the road and swam in a bay of the Tasman Sea. It was pretty cold but the beach and bay were absolutely gorgeous and we had it to ourselves. That was in Omapere.

Since then we traveled to Tutukaka and scuba dived on the Poor Knights Islands, which were as beautiful above water as they were below! Then after a marathon drive last night, we arrived in Waitomo Caves region, crashed in a hostel, threw down some breakfast, and are now waiting to go abseiling.

Abseiling is that act of rapelling down 100 feet or so into a cave and then proceeded to raft, slide, climb, swim, through an underground cave/stream.

Hopefully we'll see some small people with big feet later today when we cruise through Hobbiton.

BTW, the whole friggin country looks like something out of the LOTR's movies...

Cheers.
