The last part of the trip was a fantastic volcanic experience. We got a good intro of the volcanic activity in the island visiting Wonderlands Thermal Park of Waitapu, soaking in the mud in Rotorua and digging our own thermal pool on the beach at low tide.
Then we headed to do the Tongariro Crossing, a magnificent 8 hours walk crossing the volcano.
We ended the adventure with a trip in White Island. We were dropped on this very active volcanic island, with loads of geysers, fumeroles, boiling pools, and the most acidic lake in the world (Ph -5).
