Arrived late morning to the very distinctive smell of sulphur.....rotting eggs.... I am told that we will get used to it after a few hours.

Our accomodation is an improvement on yesterday - it has its own spa pool for a start! Our first few hours have been interesting - lots of smelly, steaming holes in the ground - bubbling mud and water - and a very distinctive milkly coloured water on parts of the lake where the geothermal activity is bursting to escape!!

It is an interesting and unforgettable place.... we will explore more in the next couple of days and report back further. Maybe the North Island won't be quite so bad after-all!

P.S. Happy Valentine's Day! And Happy Anniversary to Auntie B & Uncle J!?
