22/10/06 Sunday - New Plymouth to Pukeiti Garden *** Note there are three pages of photos. You must select each page to view all photos. New Plymouth was wet and very dead Sunday morning. Call 2 Adventure

I wish I had discovered this blog years ago. I did the mass email update for my previous adventures (United States and Europe) and now have no online documentation to share with fellow travelers. To the chagrin of some friends and family wanderlust has struck again. I managed to stay focused for nearly a year and a half in a job related to my college education, however the desire to travel has grown strong again and can no longer be suppressed. Rain Rain Go Away

I was out in weather like this all day. My camera paid the price. It stopped functioning completely for a few hours. I was forced to use the method Soviet cosmonauts would use on the old Mir station when a system wasn’t functioning. Beat it violently, shake it, drop it, heat it up, cool it down, curse at it and eventually the camera lost its stubborn ways and started working again. I am sorry to say that I think the color quality of the photos has been diminished since the rain. I’ll be replacing the camera soon.

I wish someone would have told me about this warm and dry room before I ventured out in the rain.

Actually, that’s not true. The garden was well worth the drenching I received.

Lots of Rhododendrons and azaleas on show.

Asian inspired wave in the rain.

A wet rat if I've ever seen one.

That warmed me up.

Ham, Cheese and Onion Toasty (Not toasted) and hot chocolate.
