Tory - Goolwa bike ride
I think we were about half way at this stage....still smiling :-) Hello everyone from sunny Katikati!!
Well most of you will already know that I'm back from my travels and have been for a while now....I seem to have lost interest in updating this blog when the trip came to an end!
After my 5 weeks in Thailand and Cambodia I returned to Sydney but didn't hang around very long, I instead flew on to Adelaide to catch up with Tory before I head back to NZ. We spent the whole time I was there down at Victor Harbour which for those of you who don't know is about 1 hour from Adelaide on the coast, it's a lovely little holiday town with a fabulous beach and the best hot dogs in the world! Tory and I went for a few bike rides....with a lovely lunch at the end to motivate us, walks and a wine or two or more :-)
My last stop on my trip was Sydney...I had a lovely 3 days catching up with a few people, enjoying the Sydney summer and the festive atmosphere in the city. I stayed with a friend who lived on the coast at Bondi and loved listening to the sea as
Me.....still smiling
9kms down and only 12kms to go..... I dropped off to sleep. Thankyou to all of you who showed fabulous hospitality to a poor unemployed backpacker!!
And on the 13th of December I boarded my last flight of my trip bound for Auckland....as usual it was late leaving (thanks Qantas) but thankfully my brother was still waiting for me at the airport when I arrived....thanks Michael! And since I've arrived home I've had some quality time with my friend Jane and her entertaining little boys. I had a lovely day with them on my birthday with a walk along Takapuna beach followed by lunch in the sun....and a few drinkies that night at a wine bar up the road :-) Thanks again to everyone who sent me birthday wishes.
I've also stayed a few nights at my brothers new home in Ellerslie....and my new home for a while too :-) Went to the Green Day concert which was excellent! And now I'm down at my Mum and Dad's in the pumping metropolis of Katikati awaiting the arrival of Santa laden with gifts.....NOT!
And to answer that question that I've already been asked a few times....yes it is good to be back home with my
We made it!!
Still smiling at the end....after a lovely lunch and a drink :-) family and my NZ friends but I do miss being away; waking up in different places, trying different foods and meeting so many amazing people from all over the world. The travel bug is still alive and well in me!
And yes I am planning my next trip...Where too? I'll have to get back to you on that one!
And that's it from me...........I'll be adding some more photos to my previous blogs so if you're interested check back in a day or so.
Merry Christmas to everyone and a happy New Year!! Be safe, have fun and make sure you keep in touch :-)
