Tour of Northland

Australasia » New Zealand » North Island » Bay of Islands » Paihia By Matt n Em
April 4th 2007 From Aukland we travelled to Paihia on a coach. Matt pulled on the coach. A grumpy old lady took a shine to him. The journey was 4 hours and she didn't stop talking. Emma pretended to be asleep!

We stayed in a lovely hotel and spent the first afternoon on a boat sailing around the islands. We got very sun (or wind) burnt. Unfortunately we didn't sail through the Hole in the Rock although we nearly died trying! We saw lots of fish and birds but no dolphins.

The next day we went on the second longest day trip available to the very tip of New Zealand. We also went sand duning and matt got soaked trying to jump the waves. Most of our coach just stood and laughed at him. We thought we were very brave throughout the trip until a VERY old man did everything we did but much better and with more energy. 41 miles of the trip, the coach drove along the actual beach.

We are now waiting for a coach to take us back to Aukland where we are hiring a car to drive down to Rotarua.

Do pop in on your way past!
Make sure you stop off and say hello as you come back down from Northland as you just about drive past our house to get back to Auckland. What?...Too late...you've already gone past...oh...yes, you should have said earlier...um...no, i won't take it to heart! When the dis-organised one has gone home Mat, give me a ring and we can go for a well organised beer. Enjoy the rest of the tour. j x.
