Rose festival in ParnellRose festival in ParnellRose festival in Parnell

There was this rose festival, right, and it was all very pretty. End of story really.
Yay! I am now gainfully employed and a member of the working world! Again. It's a duty manager job in a hostel, which should be interesting, but the best thing about it might be that I get my own double room! No more dorms! At least for a few months anyway.

Auckland is nice. It has a really bad rep, but I think that's just because the center is ugly and grey and blaaah. The posh suburb my hostel (heh, *my* hostel) is in is nice and green and has a volcano. An almost certainly extinct one, but you never quite know. It's a really nice walk to the top anyway. Mt Eden has a book/coffee shop, and an ice cream shop, and a normal awesome book shop and millions of little cafes that do really nice hot chocolate. And I'm getting paid to stay here (not much though) so it's even better!
