This guy and a couple of his friends were under the tent fly one morning.
Drove to Taupo but again way too busy. So we continued on to Golden Springs, it consisted of a holiday park a couple of shops that had closed and a sign that said "Golden Springs". The holiday park advertised a geothermal pools so we checked n and set up the tent. I'll include pictures of the pools, we went in but they were rustic. Between the trucks on the highway right next to us and a dog that barked it wasn't a great night.

We drove to Matamata "home of Hobbiton". We found a holiday park with a real thermal pool And spent another night.

Thursday we drove into Auckland, I had booked an AirBnB for 4 nights. Bob had recieved an email from a friend in Palm Springs the day before, we started looking at the map and realized we didn't have much of the islands to see. After a deep discussion we decided to try to change our flight, well not us exactly, I text my sister Susan and she called Air Canada for us. After an enormous time on hold Thank you Susan) we had our change, flight home changed from February

19 to January 28. I feel a little like I'm giving up? cheating? Can't think of the right word, but doesn't matter. Bob secured the park model (trailer) in Palm Springs, and we are set.

Friday we drove to James Blond, our car rental company to fill out the paperwork for the accident on the car, then got totally lost on the way home. We finally made it home and after lunch headed to CBD (Central Business District) got totally lost again and saw way more of Auckland than we had planned to find our way home. We stayed in Friday night, in fact we stayed in all day Saturday too. We we're both exhausted. Our hosts have a cute little girl (16 months), a dog (pug) that I ignore, and a rabbit that lives in our back yard. They provided us with entertainment between sleeps, reading and sitting in the sun. Saturday night we had a huge storm, power went out just before 10pm, so we went to bed. Just after 2am the power came back on, I know because the TV blasted to life.

So, one more night in Auckland with a

roof then we will spend out last few nights on the north end of the island, finishing off on hot water beach.
