Fiji Sunset
Just one of the many fantastic sunsets. After queuing up in the heat for what seemed like hours in immigration,
we were glad to finally get outside into the fresh air.
We made it to the Travellers Beach Resort in Nadi, just before a tremendous thunderstorm hit.
(It was the end of the rainy season). Once the storm had cleared, we ventured to the bar to socialise.
Found out that twice a week, entertainment was provided.
Usually a show (Fire dancing & Hula) or the "Kava" ceremony.
"Both well worth a go and it's free." Spent time in Nadi, doing the usual shopping etc.
Found prices to be really cheap
(Unlike Rarotonga).
As usual there are a few scams to watch out for;
Don't let yourself be dragged into a gift shop!
The police warned us, only after we'd been conned....
It was a case of, "my best buddy, here's a free gift" then he carved my name on it!!
THAT COST MONEY!!! But not as much as he wanted!!!
I was only $6 out of pocket unlike some that handed over loads more, after drinking the mega strong "KAVA" supplied in the shops.
Booked a trip to Tivua Island by tall ship.
What a great day! On a small island that took us 15 mins to kayak around.
Spent the day snorkelling and kayaking.
A barbeque and drinks were provided, and there was plenty of it......
It's a must, to go to the islands! Enjoy our pictures.........
