It's been over a week since I last posted a blog but I can safely say that it has been the most uneventful week of my life. Including university! Spent 5 days on the island of Mana - staying at a family run (meaning very basic) place on a beautiful little island - doing absolutely nothing! Went to the beach for a sunbathe, a swim and a snorkel, checked out the views out to other little islands and that's it! Told you it was uneventful! Oh - and we took part in a Kava Ceremony - a welcoming ceremony for guests to the village where you have to drink Kava, sounds easy enough! Kava is the root of the plant which is grounded into a powder and then mixed with water. The end result is a drink which look like it has been fished from a muddy puddle. Unfortunately it tastes like a muddy puddle as well! Glad I had a cold beer on hand to wash it down! Mana Island itself is awesome - long sandy beaches, palm trees, turquoise water, good food, cold beer - heaven could possibly be a place on Earth (who sung that?!)

'Fiji Time'
My view for a weekMy view for a weekMy view for a week

Only thing spoiling it are those pesky feet!
is a term used in a lot in Fiji. When you ask what time your boat will be the reply you get is '12pm... fiji time'. This translates to 'it could be 12pm, it could be half past, it could be 1pm, hell there might not even be a boat today.' Fiji Time is the expression used to say that things will get done in there own time. The fijians have a very laid back culture and aren't in a hurry to do anything - and the worse thing about it, is that its infectious so you spend most of your day doing nothing.

Only a week in Fiji, but it felt like a holiday (unlike everywhere else we have been so far!) and I feel totally relaxed and ready for a hectic 3 weeks in the USofA! Bye All
