Relaxing comes pretty high on the agenda but I want to do the Dirk Hartog Island trip, we, missed it last time we were here as they only go when the boat is full. Had a bit of a panic as I could not find my purse, last I remember it was Northampton when I got the coffees, bugger. Set off for a stroll down the foreshore for coffee and a “watch the world go by” session. Coffee was good and we relaxed, the dog is loving been around us and soon settles down when we stop for a sit, he does let you know when he has had enough and wants to move on. Whilst we sat having coffee and old gentleman came out of the post office with three cases of wine and of course we started chatting to him. He was an 86 year old resident and with not too much encouragement shared some of his life with us. He was from a privileged English public school background and rebelled against it all when he was younger, spending seven years and I quote “rolling around the globe”. He was born in Jersey and even stowed away on a freight ship bound for Indonesia at one pint. When asked how he got to Australia, his comment was I married a traveller and our honeymoon was a trip around Australia when we got to Shark Bay we had run out of money and we have been here for over fifty years now, He invited us to his house which is just behind our camp site to get a copy of a book he has written about the people of this area, he was fascinating and really made our day.I went into the Tourist Board and managed to book us onto the Island tour on Wednesday, Tippy is going to a day care with a lady at her home, hopefully he will be OK.Spoilt ourselves to Pizza on the foreshore for tea was tasty but I am too full to sleep now till later, ah well. Interesting to see a difference in the foreshore at night, looked like a lot of partying people, certainly lots of grog around, must be getting old I didn't want to stay too long and we headed back.</pre>
