Our son Martin took us on a drive up the Swan Valley which was very enjoyable. It was another very hot sunny day with clear blue skies. The Guildford tourist information Centre were very helpful and described the local area and what we could visit and do.

We set off on the 36km wine trail visiting 3 wine companies, Ugly Duckling, John Kosovich and finally Houghtons.

The first two were smaller producers, Houghtons was a larger business and we shared a large lunchtime platter at their restaurant, with a nice glass of wine of course!

This is an excellent way to spend a half or a full day. It is also much nicer to purchase a few bottles of wine direct from the cellar door rather than from the supermarket or bottle shop.

Val & Keith, Good to see you enjoying the WA Wineries. One of my favourites is Houghton's White Burgundy! Did you get anywhere near New Norcia? M xx
