Perth
A cool painting outside our first hostel in perth So we've arrived in Perth after a long weekend and very tiresome flight from Melbourne to stunning sunshine and borderline bearable heat. We managed to book a hostel for 3 days, 24$ a night, and to our complete surprise and utter happiness - it has a pool. This pool saved our lives numerous times, as even at 10am in Perth it's over 30 degrees. The city itself is pretty great - it's really compact and easy to get around with free transit within the city centre, tons of cheap shopping, surrounded a a gorgeous river. I'm jealous that Alex and Elise actualyl get to live here for a few months! (They've told us that their University Campus is to die for as well) So since being in Perth we've spent most of the time wandering around, seeing the sights and experiencing the night life. Alex, Hill and I rented bikes one day and spent a gruling 2 hours in the heat, almost suffering from sun stroke, to get to the beach. But MAN, when we got there was it stunning.AND we even saw dolphins in the river on the way! Our first experience on the Indian Ocean - we were very

Walking down the alleys impressed. We also spent the day at the beach (all four of us) at Fremantle, and had "the best fish and chips in australia" - they were pretty darn good. Yesterday we went to a one day music festival called Good Vibrations - it was mostly hip hop and dj music but we had a great time dancing and singing along to some great artists. We saw two DJs: sidney sampson and fake blood, followed by Nas and Damien Marley, Ludacris, and bits and pieces of otehr artists such as Faithless, Yolanda Be Cool, and Rusko. Today is our last night with the girls before they head off to school, and then Hill and I embark on our own journey to work on a farm for our meals and room just north of Cairns. We've had a great run with the two of them and will miss them a ton! Lots of love to the family and friends back home - I'll be uploading more pictures soon when I have a bit more time (the internet allows only 20minutes free intervals here!!)
