These are our new wheels.
We thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to let you all know where we are and what we are up to now.

After 3 brilliant weeks in London catching up with all our friends & family there as well as in Holland and doing a few DIY jobs in our flat we packed our bags again and headed down south to Perth in Western Australia.

We realised that we could not live in the UK forever and it seemed a logical time to make the move - especially since we still have a few months left on our Australian Work/Holiday visas.

Perth is a big city but it feels small, it's clean and neat and offers an amazing, relaxed lifestyle. The beaches are really beautiful - white sand, blue water and plenty of space (oh, and great wind for kite/wind surfing), the weather is great and economically it is really booming thanks to the mining industry nearby. It's a lot quieter than London and we have to get used to the fact that there is no 24 hour shopping and things generally close at 6pm and are shut on Sundays.

It was very easy for us to find work, Pen is working for as a project manager for a company that specialises in producing high end architectural renders, animations and models and Dave has a 4 month management accounting role which has enabled him to get his business visa sponsored so we now have the option of staying in Australia indefinately.

At the moment we are staying in Fremantle a cool, arty port town with loads of Coffee shops, restaurants, buskers and beautifully preserved buildings. We are looking for a bigger place to rent a little closer to the city.

We didn't know anyone here in Perth before we arrived so it was quite a big step for us but in the 2 weeks we have been here we have met such wonderful people and that has really made things easier.

We took a drive out to Lancelin, about 1 hr north of Perth. There's not mch in the town but it's a great beach for surfing and wind/kite surfing.
