We started today with a mid morning mountain bike ride around the

surrounding trails. Only went for an hour or so but it managed to get the

heart pumping. At one point we nearly got lost so it is probably best that

we take a map with us on the next venture.

On the trail back a large sleepy lizard nearly fell victim to rachel's

front wheel; fortunately the little fella lived to see another day.

We then went to the local store to stock up on supplies as we are planning

to free camp in a nearby conservation park over the next few days.

The afternoon was spent on a steam train ride out of Dwellingup through the

surrounding forests. It was only us and three others on a three carriage

train and we took advantage of the perfect weather to sit in an old open

carriage.

At the half way point we went on a quick walk around a 1km trail and again

Rachel nearly made contact with another lizard. We only heard it and

caught a quick glimpse as it scurried off into the surrounding bushland but

given the noise it made and that it moved at the speed of light one can

only imagine how big it was......would have made for a great photo.
