A Night with the Nuns

We said farewell to some of our friends staying in Exmouth - yes another early start. Then we set off for breakfast whilst watching the sunset over the horizon against the craggy rocks - the view of the sea was magnificent. As we drove back along the straight deserted roads fringed with bush, deep red soil we knew this was the real Australia. It was a very long journey back to Northampton, with little sign of civilisation for miles, except for the odd roadhouse/service station every now and then.

On our final stop we saw a beautiful river that had previously been flooded, and we spotted a feral cat roaming along the river bank. Then we arrived at the Old Convent in Northampton where spooky things happen! The convent is no longer in use by the nuns who have dispersed into neighbouring towns, however the rustic church next door was still operating. We had a final meal with the remaining group, before heading to bed exhausted after all the driving!
