We had heaps of fun at Ruth, Locky and Min's place. Cinders (the dog) was excited to see us too! Uncle Drew picked us up from the airport and he looked after us too when Mum and Ruth were at yoga. Min got the week off school to hang out with us. We got some movie time in and lots of jumping on the trampoline and even did some karma yoga moving some of the wood that Locky chopped for the inside fire. Locky made us yummy pizza and Ruthy made us delicious apple pies! Ruth took us to the beach. We found a drain and Cal wanted to walk back to India in it! Only when Aunty Ruth wasn't looking though! Aunty Ruth said she didn't go in the tunnels until she was a teenager so we should wait a bit. Mum and Cal went for a swim in the freezing water! Ruth also took me to the library a few times and we had a fun day with Drew at Walhalla. We went into the gold tunnel and did some exploring and then went up to the cemetery. I like it there. It was all misty. Cal and Min
kept asking if we knew all the people buried there!
When we were driving up to Cairns we stopped off to visit lots of friends and Nanna, Uncle Anthony and Bec, Kirsty and Stu. On the way we went to some of our favourite places. When we were coming into Canberra we saw all the trees they were planting. It's going to be a big Arboretum with heaps of trees and gardens. Cal said "If they keep cutting down all the trees, this place will be covered in sand and be a desert in 30 years." I told him "And then people will be begging to no one in particular for mercy." Cal said "That's true. Can you teach me the meaning of some more things? There are so many things I still don't know the meaning of!" He had lots and lots of questions while we were on the drive.
We went to Questacon with Daniel and his sister and Cal was finally big enough to do the big drop down the slide. He's been waiting 4 years to do that! We played leggo and DS on the drive and I read a lot. I started the
MS Readathon. My target is 50 books in a month and to raise $200.
This is what I thought about Skullduggery Pleasant: It's the best book ever but its kind of creepy about the way the writer kills off each character in a mysterious way. It's about a girl called Steph Edgley and Skullduggery as they try to take down a bad guy whose red right hand can deal death. It's full of monsters, magic and mysteries and action packed fun! This is what I liked out of one of Garth Nix's books: 'Does the person choose the path or the path choose the person?' One of the books I just read had lots of poems in it or excerpts of books at the start of each chapter. Here is another good one: 'God took a deep breath. Another complaint! When would Man come to him without a complaint? But he shot up his eyebrows, smiled with delight and cried "Man! How are the carrots coming on?!" It's from Ted Hughs in Dreamfighter.
Mum stopped off at 'Real Food'. She was so excited to see something different from McDonalds and servos on the way up the highway! She
loved it so much that she asked the guy if she could buy a shirt that had the 'real food' ad on it so she could advertise real food because there is SO much packaging in food in most other places. She bought one of the shirts and one for me too. We even got a price cheaper than what the people that work at the shop pay for them! The food was yummy so it was more good karma! My heat rash and boils from India went away. We visited Corbin and his family. We slept upstairs in the attic and in the morning you could see the ocean view. Faye made us avocado dip. It was delicious. It's a long time since we ate avocado! We even got to see our scout leader in Brisbane! Killara was visiting Australia just the same days we were there! She gave us a shirt each from America and we talked about some badge things! We saw Ben and Donna and played some games with Mitch. They have a cool pizza oven. Dad was super excited to see us again when we got to Cairns. He took us to the Esplanade playground and we had a picnic at the river.
