Our flight back to Australia was via Melbourne, otherwise we wouldn't be home until the 20th, due to Chinese New Year celebrations and all flights on Singapore Airlines being booked out. This part of our trip, I felt sick, the Delhi Belly was starting to affect me. I was feeling cold, very tired and needing to visit the toilet very often! I was planning to finish writing the Travelpod and then get some sleep but my body had other plans!! We got up to cruising height, and the food and drinks trolley came out, just the smell of the coffee made me feel sick. I took the food tray, and a red wine, but only had the water and cheese and crackers.. and the red wine!! Well I got my exercise getting up and going to the toilet many times, my tummy was having its own party and I was paying for it. Clint watched movies while I tried to sleep, not that I slept for long.
After travelling for many hours, breakfast was about to be served, would have been good if I felt like eating! Clint was now eating everything that was offered to him!
Soon it was
time for our decent into Melbourne, we landed a little bit late, but safely. We collected our hoard of bags on 2 trolleys and from here we had to leave the international terminal and head to the domestic. We checked our bags into Virgin, for this sector, I used points from my velocity and got business seats, as this way we can use the lounge, have 2 bags per person and we will get looked after. We have a 5 hour wait here, we could have wandered throughout the airport shops, but not me, I decided to use the Virgin Lounge to lay down. Of all times to be able to have whatever food and drinks we want, I come down just wanting to go to sleep, (and the toilet!!) I slept on and off for about an hour, Clint helping himself to food and drinks, he did bring me a champagne, which I drank to settle the tummy!!!
Our flight to Adelaide was now ready, priority seats, we were first on he plane, seats 1A and 1C. The hostess welcomed us and introduced herself, and offered us a drink!! That helped too!
A light meal was served to the
4 people in business class, mushroom soup, cheese, quince paste, bread roll, and a glass of wine, even offered to top up our glass for the flight down, but we didn't! We arrived back into Adelaide around 4.45pm and my dad came with my car to collect the luggage and us. Back home again only for a few weeks, next trip is to China for work, 4 weeks from this trip!
We unpacked our bags and got some washing on, and tonight is an early night to bed!
Sunday is a new day, and after having a really good sleep, we try to get back into a normal life again. This trip has been such a whirlwind holiday, an amazing trip of a lifetime, an experience we will never get to have again, we have been so happy to be involved in this Wedding in India, we have met so many new friends who have welcomed us into their lives with so much love.
Monday 20th February is our 24th Wedding Anniversary and our first day back to work, so Clint and I decided to get dressed back into our Wedding dresses and surprise everyone at work! The look on some
of the people's faces looking at Clint as we drove to work separately was priceless , I had such a laugh watching them stare!!
We got to work and everyone got a huge surprise, one of our customer was able to take some photos of all our staff, (apart from Helen, who doesn't work Mondays) dressed up, then we got back into our normal clothes to start the backlog of work required. We sent the photos over to India, and the family were pleased to see us once again dressed up, but also safely home!
