The view of Flinders Street Station from Federation Square. Geo: -37.8143, 144.963
I have been back in Australia since the 7th of January and am here on a six week trip. It has been great catching up with family and friends.
This morning I got dropped off at the station and caught the train to Flinders Street. I was meeting Jess and Shona in Federation Square. From Federation Square I could see Southbank and the famous Young and Jackson pub. I had caught up with Jess a week ago, but had not seen Shona since this time last year in London. It was good to see her again. We caught the tram to St Kilda to go have lunch in Acland St. This street is well known for many cake shops and cafes- Melbourne is great for eating out and coffee!
We choose a place and shared pizzas and a salad. We were there for a while as we caught up on each other's lives during the past year or so. We then went for a walk along the St Kilda Pier and had a great view of the city skyline. We caught the tram back to Flinders Street and walked along Southbank. On the way back along Southbank we stopped
02 Young and Jacksons
The view of Young and Jacksons pub from Federation Square. for a drink. I had a delicious Swedish pear and strawberry cider which costs $14!!!! It was nice, but ouch- very expensive. We walked along Sandridge Bridge and then said goodbye at Flinders Street Station.
It was fantastic to see the girls again on this side of the world!
