The Plane

Sooooo the plane. Mmmmm I thought it was fine. Lynette did not. Which made it all the more hilarious. We take off 45 minutes late (no surprise there....do planes ever leave on time?). Anyway, we settle in our extra roomy seats - insert sarcastic tone - and bunker down for the 14 or so hours. We have a lovely German fellow as our seat buddy. He starts talking away about being a Commerce student at Melboune Uni and then Lynette kindly advises him that she will be asking him to move out of the way alot during the flight as she will need to pee alot. He seems quite okay with this. I reckon he was just being nice!

Anyway we take off. It's all very exciting.....until dinner service 2 or so hours in. We get handed our plates and crack open out diet cokes (I know, piss weak). Dinner is okay - until the turbulence. Now it's just plain hilarious. I can't stop laughing as Lynette goes to take a drink and as she brings the cup closefr to her mouth, it splashes and spills. Plates go sliding, yoghurt gets spilt on laps...it's all too much for me. I can't stop laughing. German boy next to us thinks we are insane. It IS funny - how can he not laugh?

After the turbulance has subsided we watch a movie in the hope it makes us tired enough to sleep. It does, but sleeping on the plane is not easy. We cat nap, toss and turn and then eventually give up. But i must say it is quite funny to see how people sleep. Mouths hanging open, dribble, snoring, farting. It's not a pretty picture.

After what seemed a gazillion, the shades are finally permitted to be opened and we have breakfast. Still have 6 hours to go. We are struggling, but in the home stretch.

5.15pm finally rolls around and we land in the City of Angels. It's sunny and cold and we are hanging to get to our hotel. Another 1.5 sitting down and we finally make it Beverly Hills and big, soft, heavenly beds.
