Hired a car with Lee and Dan (who we met in Perth). Drove along the Great Ocean Road. Stopped off at Bells Beach (black and gold sand - not the best), Anglesea (lovely beach there), and eventually Apollo Bay (huge beach), having seen some Koalas en route.

We played a bit of beach cricket on Apollo Bay but the tennis ball split too soon. We got an appartment in a motel and ate at a really nice Bistro where I had a loveley fish chowder.

In the main bar in Apollo Bay there were some very drunk Aussies including one that insisted that Aussie beer was stronger than beer back in England. He could hardly string 2 words together though so I guess Aussie beer is strong, or he was a lightweight :-)

The Ocean road is a good drive to do but watch out for the flies - there are tons of them!!!!!
