Went to Tasmania for couple of weeks and at arrival it was freezing cold and rainy and time to bring out almost all my clothes!
After waiting couple of days reading and finishing yet another book in the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan it was time to book a tour. Also went to the impressively good Tasmanian Art Gallery and Museum.
I found on the net a 5 day tour of Tasmania with Jump Tours for 400 dollars which was much cheaper then other companies I found.

So early monday morning off I went on a 5 day trip around Tasmania and there were only 6 of us in the bus incl. the guide and it was a good relaxed atmosphere which I prefer. We got experience heaps of windy zick-zack roads up and down all the hills and mountains.
Saw lakes, streams, waterfalls, forest of many kinds, padymelons (similar to wallabe, i.e. small kangaroo), mountains, beaches and experinced lot of cold weather 😉
Wineglass Bay was amazing and well worth the 2 hour return walk and even the freezing water is worth swimming in since it is crystal clear and pure.

Wow, someones has energy
last day before flying to New Zealand I walked up and down Mount Wellington and was pleasent walk and great view of Hobart and surrounding area. The coast lines is filled with bays and what looked like beatiful beaches from that high up. Yet, remembering how cold the water was at Wineglass Bay, I managed to stay away from them 😉

Tasmania was originally named Van Diemens Land. But after getting bad reputation due to all the convicts they changed the name after the discoverer Abel Tasman to get free people to colonise it as well.
