Day 11 – 3/3/2015

After yesterday’s very early & long, busy day, slept like a log until 9.10am. Must have needed the rest I think! Two loads of washing later, we were off in the car again. This time just a short 48km trip down the road to Coffin Bay. We stopped at the Beachcomber store in the main street, where we ordered 1 dozen oysters Kilpatrick. Sitting at one of their many tables, we set about devouring these wonderful delicacies. While we have eaten Barilla Bay & Get Shucked oysters in Tasmania, which by the way were just wonderful, today’s Coffin Bay oysters were the best ever. Their taste was just so smooth & as we upended our final shell each, Deb & I looked at one another & just went “mmmmmm”! I can thoroughly recommend that if you are in this part of South Australia & love oysters, then this is one place you must go to.

We picked up another caravan antenna made for areas with poor reception from Mitre 10 (made by Hills, Skyline Ultra Regional FB608567). It took 5 minutes to put together & attach, then promptly found 21 digital channels with every one of them glitch free. Mission accomplished!

After that it was back out again to The Fresh Fish Place at 20 Proper Bay Road (opposite the racecourse) where we picked up some Silver Whiting fillets & prawns which we cooked up on the caravan park BBQ on top of some Glad Bake paper (which makes cleaning the BBQ so much easier). The fish was ready quite quickly, melting in your mouth. Not as good as the oysters earlier, but still brilliant & washed down with a couple of ice cold frothies!
