Naracoorte, South Australia

Just north of the Coonawarra wine region is a town called Naracoorte. We found a beautiful country cottage on the edge of town looking out on the bush. The cottage was fully equipped with gourmet foods, all modern amenities and a huge spa bath. The big surprise in Naracoorte was something known as a "swimming lake." A man-made combination pool and sandy-bottomed lake, the swimming lake was a favorite hang-out of several flocks of exotic birds.
