Wet and cold today so thought a drive would be better than sitting around in a cold caravan.
Invited Margaret and John to join us to visit Melrose and we had a great day. Showed them Hancock Lookout - even though it was a cloudy we still managed to see the stunning view (the wind was very cold though).
Walked around the town checking out all the very old buildings - Melrose Surveyed in 1851 but some of the buildings are older than that and still standing today - many still in use. The cloud was hanging over Mt Remarkable all day. Checked out all the eating places for some lunch - the first hotel was too costly but an interesting old renovated hotel, the blacksmith cafe was booked out (it looked great and had a fire) so we finished up at the hotel and had a great meal at a reasonable price - drove the gravel scenic route back via Port Germein with some stunning views through the ranges.
