After a short flight to Adeleide I was greeted there by my good friend Tim, who I meet in London many years ago when he was living there, and we went to many many parties together. He was with his girlfriend Marion and we went straight to have some lunch in Adeleide by the sea at an oysters bar, where we had a dozen each with a bottle of white wine. We were enjoying our lunch at the pier when we saw a couple of dolphins swimming around the boats. From there we drove a pub near their house in the McLaren Vale (one of the wine regions here in South Australia), and we had another bottle of wine whilst the sun was setting on the sea. During the drive from Adeleide I saw many the many vineyards that are around this area, and all the green scenery (so green compared to Alice Springs and surroundings). It reminded me so much of the Ribera de Duero area in Spain with the many vineyards. For dinner Marion cooked for us a delicious 3 course dinner and of course we had some more wine. The following morning I meet Bob, a nice Canadian
guy living with Tim and Marion. As Marion had to go to work that day, Tim and Bob took me to a few wineries to try some of the famous wines of the area. We also stopped for a quick lunch in one of the wineries whilst we had...of course...wine!! We tried at least 8 wines in each of the 4 wineries we went, so you do the maths. We also bought some wine and food to prepare dinner. That night it was Tim's turn to cook again another absolutely delicious meal. As a desert Bob had brought a kind of kilo pastry filled with white chocolate and blue cheese served in a bed of cream and strawberries. Yes, I know it sounds a strange combination but it was absolutely delicious.I feel like all I've been doing is drinking and eating! Not complaining though. The following day whilst Tim did some work, Marion and I went food shopping, and on the way back we decided to stop in another winery to do some tasting! That day it was my turn to cook for them so of course I prepared paella and sangria! The afternoon was a very relaxing one after
drinking the sangria and eating the nice fruit inside (with all the alcohol in it).
The following morning Tim and I went for a walk at the beach and for lunch to a nice fish and chips in a near town.
After that it was time for me to get to the airport and go to Brissy where Sonia and Renae would be waiting for me. I could not wait to see them again!
No me quejo no!!
