Black Swans and Signet
My second day on Kangaroo island saw us heading towards the south west, to Flinders Chase National Park. On the way we saw some black swans with signets on the shore line and pelicans up close and personal, a wedge tailed eagle and the 4th most venomous snake the black backed tiger snakesunning himself on the road! During our coffee stop a superb fairy wren dropped by.....Arriving at Flinders Chase National Park took us to Remarkable Rocks, an incredible rock formation right on the coast our guide Jon thought the name was a bit too British and perhaps a more Oz name should be "Bloo**y Amazing Rocks! I think he is right they are incredible! Then down to Cape du Couedic the far south westand Admiral Arch to see New Zealand Fur Seals on the rugged coastland before heading to the Park's Visitors Centre for a delicious lunch Later Jon took us to another private remote area to watch Kangaroos eating and playing before heading to Vivonne Bay and then on to the airport and back to my Hotel in Adelaide What a fantastic place to have visited This is one of the world's truely remote places on the earth to watch animals in the wild and somewhere I will always remember.......

Snake
You say the snake was sunning itself on the road.... It looks suspiciously flat - did your guide accidentally run over it?? Or is it meant to be like that? xx Pics look great. xx
