Elliston
Peter preparing to rescue Rhonda from the bike track! Surf board is in case she goes over the edge. From time to time you come across something that demands its own blog.
Bob and Jacquie Hayter told us about Elliston and so we decided to spend a couple of nights. Quite spectacular, and somewhat unique, is the cliff top tourist drive where there are quirky statues/displays on permanent display. Apparently the town runs a festival every two years that feature a statue competition on the tourist drive.
This blog is really a set of photos to look at as each one tells its own story.
However, there is a little fishing story as well. In short, Rhonda came fishing too! And what’s more, she bagged her first salmon . In order to make her capture, we had to climb down 283 steps at Locks Well. Much harder coming back up! Great spot for fishing and sightseeing. I don’t know of any, but just in case, a photo is provided to satisfy doubting Thomas. Shep did demand we supply photographic evidence though! I suspect that was just to keep the record straight!
Elliston is a well kept seaside village with good basic facilities. We’ve enjoyed it. We did visit
Elliston
Jason, Rhonda, Peter & Michael Port Kenny and Venus Bay but they were a bit basic.
