Lake Eyre can't be described in words. It is so strange to see these gleaming white salt flats suddenly appear in the horizon. I was surprised at how thick the layer of salt was and how it got onto our skin, clothes and everything. It must have been very disheartening for the early explorers to have come across this Lake only to find it was full of salt!! When we first got to the water Jack just kept on going! Gavin had to run after him to get him to come back. Jack said he was just going to find the deep part!! We had to explain that there are no deep parts around here!!
