After our great time in Surfers Paradsise we rented a car and drove up the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast to Noosa. We stopped at various places along the way. The first one being Brisbane. Enlarge this photo to get the full effect. Look at the band of black crossing over the moon. We stood and watched the bats pass over our heads from 3 different directions for over 30 minutes. This was probably the greatest mass of mammals that we have ever seen in one sighting. They just kept coming and coming!! It was truly amazing!

The sky was so filled with bats for miles and miles that it looked like a giant swarm of gnats.

Pamroe and Ron, Love the photos as always! I am just amazed that you can get so close to the animals! Do you care if I print the Blog up and send it with Carlea to share with her teacher?
