On the Water!!! Well the time is upon me again to welcome the globe travelling freckle to the golden sands of Australia.Once again I was waiting for her at the gate when she walked through sporting a new haircut, which looks amazing by the way,and the aura of a pommie just stepping off the plane.I quickly whisked her away in the van,is what I should be writing if the vans head gasket hadnt blown the previous week.Timing is the master of something as someone once wrote,I think, but this was a kick in the nads as far as our plans were concerned.I had rented a car for the week so I whisked her off in my Hyundi to the town of Noosa on the north of the sunshine coast where we checked into a lovely beach house. Now lovely isnt a world I would freely use as a man but I nothing else would do this justice. The place had real character and was the perfect place to spend a couple of days.It was that evening Helen and I got to have a really good chat about the future and not wanting to go into it too much, decided to call it a day after this holiday.Im
really gonna miss you Helen and im sure we will keep in touch with each other.I know we will!!!
Although things had changed Helen once again pulled out all the stops for my birthday the next day with cards from friends and family and some great little present.Thank you Hel.
It makes the rest of our adventure quite hard to write about,we gallivanted around the sunshine state stopping at different places before heading to he Great Australia Zoo,for the second time.We had an amazing time there and was ready on the Saturday to fly down to Sydney, not before spending a night in Brisbane. After booking into the backpackers, getting the last room,we threw on our glam rags and headed down to the valley. It was in the first pub that the weirdest thing happened. Two guys wobbled up to the bar and ordered behind us.They had been there for a few mins when I saw Helen look down and shriek.I thought the guy had spilt his beer on Helens leg.I think Helen would have preferred that to the liquid that it actually was.I looked at the guy and sure enough he was draining the main vein while stood at the bar. There was a
little altercation which involed me and the two lads before Helen came back with the bouncer to save me.The guy got thrown out but his mate was left inside.Me not knowing this turned around only to be confronted with a haymaker and the guy scuttling away after his mate.Lucky for me the punch didnt quite land because if it did i would have been in cloud cookoo land with tweety birds flying round my head.Anyway to cut a long story short Helen got pissed on and I got punched,a great start to the night.Things got a whole lot better after some guys came over, who saw the whole thng and took us out to a really good club. There was some shapes thrown by me and the Freckle,Ginger Rogers and Fred Estair!!!!
The plane ride was uneventful, however upon landing and with my total disregard to planning we found ourselves in the middle of Sydney with nowhere to stay.I think it was the sixth or seventh place that took pity on us and opened thier doors, thankgod.Even though the Freckle was carrying my tiny bag she looked like a rucksack with little legs and im sure she had shrunk under the weight.
We visited the usaul sites and on the Wednesday night Helen had booked Macbeth at the opera house for my birthday.I was quite looking forward to it and as Helen quizzed me on Shakespere and what I knew, not forgetting to tell me what she knew,my thoughts returned to English Lit at school and "The Merchant of Venice."What could I remember?I remember blowing chewed up bits of paper through a straw into Jim Hunts head and I remember Mrs Exley talking about something of which the content escapes me.I realised that if anyone talked to me during the interval and tried to draw me into a "What did you think of the representation of Macbeths bitter and twisted wife,"id quickly make my excuses and pass them on to the ginger brain. It was a great night although I nearly clapped when the interval came thinking the show had ended.
The days slowly ticked by and after a short trip over to Manly for the night the holiday was coming to an end.I really enjoyed having Helen here and hope she enjoyed it also.I do remember that I am still S**thead at cards and for that reason alone we will play again
and therefore see each other again.Take care Freckle,I really enjoyed our time.
As Helen was waiting to board her flight I caught a plane back to Bribane and to the house.During our time in Sydney the van had been in and was sporting a new engine, the price of which I dont want to discuss.Thomas had his revenge in the end.So with the van firing again and the offer of a new place to live closer to the beach,I was feeling slightly better. My new place is five minutes walk from the beach with a guy called Locky. He has a great little staffy called Jim who im looking after while Locky and his girlfriend are away on holiday. So thats you all up to date now.Take care and will write again soon.

Thanks for a wicked time babe, seein oz from a local's point of view was the trip of a lifetime and I can't think of anyone better to have spent it with! I will look for your name in lights as the next kiteboarding world champion! I'm sure I took hours of better footage than what u've put on - I can confirm that u are able do big jumps now (when the wind's right of course!) Take care and keep in touch, and I'll hold u to that rematch of s***head but we already know who'll win x
