Finally got myself a job! It's in Clermont, Queensland on a cattle station which should be awesome. It's with one of the other girls I did the OutBackPackers course with - Suzie - so nice to be with someone I already know! We left Brisbane yesterday at 2.30pm and arrived in Mackay at 7.15am today - luckily we slept most of the way! Stuck here until 1.30pm then got another bus journey (only 6 hours this time!) to Clermont. I think we're going to be in the middle of nowhere to be honest!

Job sounds good - the guy checked we could ride horses/quads/motorbikes and mentioned something about feeding calves and other general farm work. Not sure if I'll have internet access there though so don't panic if no-one hears from me for a few weeks. We get weekends off though so will be doing a little exploring if possible.

Hoping to book my flights to Tasmania in the next few days - can't wait! Still can't get my head around a sunny Christmas.

Anyway, I better go. Not sure what we're gonna do in this town for the next few hours but sure we'll come up with something!

weekend story
G'DAY Shelia ( Sands ), I can see your having a fair dinkum time. Down for the hockey at the weekend with Keith and Heath, Ann and Colin stayed at the Braid Hills with us. Sat games were great. Adam and Stu played really well and they were unlucky not to beat East. 4-2 Adz-2.The Midland game was less good but they managed a win.3-2 Adz-2 Went for a few beers and a meal and off to bed. Up at 8.00 for breakfast and Mum left the hot shower running, this set off the fire alarm, so everyone out untill the fire brigade checked the hotel ( baltic ). Breakfast was a rather red faced experience. Arrived at Peffer and as we walked round West scored in the first min. They held their own but West were that bit better. 5-1 The play off game was exciting and it went to flicks. Adam,Scott, John and Stu scored and Tom saved a couple to win it.Adz-2+the flick. The North crowd were the obvious winners of the loudest supporters and we gave the umpires pelters ( they were- it rhyme's with trap ) We might not know the rules, but when has that ever mattered. Got stuck in a traffic jam outside Dundee on the way home as did the boys bus. Enjoy the work and remember not to cut off anything with the chainsaw. I'll show you the birthday presents when you get back, if they are still around. Speak to you shortly. Luv Dad
