Update from Paradise

Hi everybody,

Well another update from Paradise. We had a great time at the surfing lesson, the kids all got up, standing and surfing !!!!! (Please Mr Bloch, tell this to Mrs Bartel !!!!!!!!!!!)
That afternoon (Saturday) we drove up to Surfers Paradise, and it is paradise !!!!!!!!! Waves are very strong !!! There were about 17 people that had to be rescued that day. The beaches are very well patrolled, you can only swim between the flags. The city itself is shopping heaven !!!!!!!
Then Sunday morning Kirsten had to go to the doctor as she had a huge splinter in her feet and it got infected. So we gave ouselves a lazy day and did nothing, just sitting on the beach.

Monday morning we left early to go to the Australia Zoo. Here we dropped off the flag with all the names from the Cheam School kids. It is a great Zoo, not as big as we expected, but very well set up.

Last night we drove from the Zoo straight to Harvey Bay, where we will stay for about 4 nights. We will go to-morrow (by plane) to the Great Barrier Reef (Lady Elliot island) We will stay there overnight and snorlkel. Have changed our plans a bit as there is a big cyclone forming in front of Cairns. So we will be hanging around Brisbane area a bit longer and we fly back to Sydney on March the 8th.

It is amazing how many things we have done so far, but slowly we are getting ready too to come home. there are so many impressions you get, we need time to really absorb them. Both Thailand and Australia are great countries to travel especially with kids, we all love to come back here one day
