Well, we got to Hervey Bay late on Wednesday night and were all geared up for our Fraser Island adventure. For those that don't know, Fraser Island is basically a sand island (the biggest one in the world) just off the coast of Australia. We had signed up for a 3 day camping adventure. We have no guide, just fellow travelers and we navigate our way through the island in a huge jeep. We had no idea what to expect, but our group was the four of us, 2 Canadiens, 1 French guy, 2 German girls & 1 Korean guy. We loaded up took the ferry and were on our way.....our first stop was Lake MacKenzie, the most popular destination on Fraser Island. It's basically this clear lake....I've definitely never seen anything like it, unbelievable!!!
It was so cool driving around the island, we were basically driving on a picturesque beach with beautiful water all day stopping at beautiful lakes...we set our camp up for the night, tents & all & lemme say I have never experienced heat like this at this place. Once the sun rose, there was no way to sleep...it felt like we were roasting in an oven the entire time...so hot! We were so thankful for the lakes though, always providing a way to cool off!
It was definitely roughing it, but one of the most fantastic experiences I have ever had. We made it back to Hervey Bay just in time to take our first showers for three days and start celebrating New Year's Eve!

Since none of us had any real plans after graduation, we all thought a few months on the other side of the world would do. Our plans are to go to Nadi, Fiji for 8 days, then head to Sydney, Australia, where we are living for four months and traveling for one and finally to ... full info
