Peninsula Developmental Road
Back on that dreaded, dust, corregated dirt road 2nd November, 2012
Packed up our camp and it was time to move on to our next destination, Normanton (The Gulf of Carpentaria). We enjoyed our adventure to the Cape and I would love to do it again. Stopped in Bamaga for morning tea before heading back on that terrible, dusty dirt road. From Bamaga to Normanton is about 1550km, but Daniel wanted to try a short-cut through a dirt track which would cut this distance by 325km. However, there was no petrol station from Laura to Normanton (568km via the dirt track), so we decided to stop at Laura for fuel. Unfortunately, the service station in Laura was closed and we camped here for the night.
