Another update, I'm starting to get good at this. But have been a busy bee, ish.
So yes, During this week i headed away from cairns for 3 days upto cape tribulation on my own, which was a bit weird.
Had to book a tour up, but did just want to jump on a bus and go as people had said it's a much nicer place than cairns, which is actually really dead with very little going on, well it comes to life a bit more at about midnight but there really aren't that many bars, apparently cairns has a population of 80,000, but u will find more than 250,000 people here at one time, where are they all? anyhow i headed north, went for a walk around the mossman gorge, was good, but not really as attractive as Canarvon. And stopped at a crocodile sanctuary, where got to see some more crocodiles, and more cassowaries, and snakes. Beautiful scenery has we headed up through the mountains, and across the daintree river, but cape tribulation is an extrordinary place because it has 2 world heritage sites there, in the daintree rainforest which is thought to be the oldest in the
Mossman gorge
Fig tree and crazy jeremy world, and then the great barrier reef within the coral see.
But arrived at cape tribulation, not sure if kev was joking when he told me they have a population of 12 people there, but it is very easy to believe, as there is 1 supermarket/chemist, and then a couple of places to stay and that is it, but it was good, an amazing beach, and nobody there, but it is a shame that u are unable to go in the water up here, not just because of the jelly fish, but also the croc's. Not going on, well nothing, so had an early night as i was going out to the barrier reef the next day.
Early start, quite bad weather, found out later that the water was at 25 knots, and they cancel if it reaches 30 knots, so the water was quite rough as we headed out, and a few people had to stick their heads over the side.
Did a first snorkel but the water was so rough that it was not so good, and was really had to swim around against the currents. But did another snorkel in the afternoon, and it was a bit
Cape tribulation
Not sure if this is a funnel web or wolf spider, but really don't fancy touching it either way calmer, and the sun had come out, and was really amazing again, probably better than when i was on the whitsundays, the water was really clear, and we were the only boat about, the joys of going upto cape tribulation, so that was a good day out on the reef, back to the hostel/bungalow, still nothing, but got to watch neighbours for 2 days, as i have been missing it over the past few weeks, seems like a lot has happened.
Next day went into the rainforest, where it rains alot, surprising i know, but did 'jungle surfing', well, really it's just going along rope wires high up in the tree's, was really good too, although when they stopped u right in the middle, with out warning and u just hang there. oh and for the last one they made u go upside down, but was a really good laugh. Later that afternoon catch the bus to head back to cairns, but stop on the daintree river to do a cruise, to spot wild crocodiles, saw a couple, but had a funny guide, which kept me entertained.
So i'm back in cairns now, and just the 2 of us left
from the 15, after anja left this morning, so me and oli are going to try hard to keep out of the pubs and save some money. I'm here til the 17th, so think will just go and chill by the lagoon for the next week, in the sun and the 10 second bursts of heavy rain.

Jealous is not the word!
I am green with envy! It looks like your having such a good time. The highlight back home is that the sun has actually come out and I have been able to wear a t-shirt!!! Enjoy it to the full. :)
