We arrived in Cairns mid evening and were immediately hit by the heat and humidity of the city which was quite welcome after the rain in Alice. There was a Flying Fox nursery outside the council buildings in Cairns and every day you'd see them in there squeaking away.. at night they would all come out and swarm in the sky.
