our faithful car!
Day one of our Road Trip. The car, a Holden Commodore, white, reg 350 Dex, is a great vehicle and will no doubt serve us well. The morning found us travelling South to the hinterland of the Sunshine coast. My navigation isnt that bad!
Our first little stop was Mapleton NP....lovely waterfalls and a little rainforest stroll. Then we headed in to Mapleton itself and rapidly out of it as it consists of about 3 streets. Montville was a little larger with SHOPS!!! and cafes, a few touristy craft shops and not a lot else but it was quaint.
South we continued. Bound for the ethereal peaks of the Glass House Mountains...Volcanic forms with age and mystery...oh and rain. As we found the lookout it started to rain, though personally I feel the rain clouds added to the drama and power of these strange prehistoric monoliths.
Naturally the day was drawing to a close so it became time to seek out food and refuge for the night. Selecting Beerwah as our destination for the evening we went in search of food. No foraging for berries or hunting rabbits...no. We drove to Caloundra and had proper food. Then it was time to

settle to sleep in our faithful car in a nice dark car park in Beerwah.
