We arrived fairly early 11 am into Katherine Big4 Caravan Park. Lovely park being 40 acres of lawned areas. The day is hot again, about 39c and fairly humid. After setting up camp we had to shop and re-stock the fridge again. Jen & Nat had a swim in the pool. David & I pottered around the van and it was our turn to cook tea. Chow Mein yum. Saturday we started at the information centre to book a tour for Sunday of the 3 gorges and find out some info on Kakadu as rumour has it parts of the park are still closed due to crocs. That seemed to take ages. We went to the local flea market and didn't find anything to buy. Onto the Katherine museum where we spent a couple of hours browsing through the war stuff and the local history. Jen & I went shopping again and bought some new bathers. Yes they still have summer clothes here in the shops. Back to camp to don our bathers and then spent an hour or so in the thermal pool. Sunday "Happy Mother's Day" to all you mums reading this, we were up early for
our 3 gorge cruise and hike of Katherine Gorge. Another hot day but it was worth the effort. The tour takes about 4 hours return. Only 1 croc (a freshie) was seen and that was in gorge 1 where there is no swimming or canoeing yet. The tour guide was a very informed fellow and had heaps to tell us but we can't remember half of it. Had some lunch at the info centre and then back to camp to go shopping and stock up that ruddy fridge again. We are off to Kakadu tomorrow for 8 nights and not sure if we will have internet coverage. Looks great. What is griff and nat up to in the pool ? Looks suss. Haha
