Kingston Family Seat.
This seat was donated by the decendants of the Lucas-Gascoigne family. Hi All!
Well today was just wonderful with a very over cast day, it seemed cooler even though I doubt it is.
The day started with a 7 am swim at Emily Bay again, last day today for Rhonda she was off on the 2 o’clock plane today. Even MrC came and even though he said it was cold I know he enjoyed it. Also the last day for us too as we will be on a plane at 8 am tomorrow.
After breakfast we started out with only two things in mind….one to go back and look in all the shops that we hadn’t been in, and two was to go and look over the Cemetery.
We went into all the shops that took our fancy and yes I bought some stuff to bring home… heehee and DB and Rick MrC has bought next to nothing! LOL he took your advice and bought nothing and enjoyed himself to the hilt!
We were done by 12.30 and headed to a place called “THE OLIVE” and yes you guessed it, it was lovely to sit down and eat there, I had chicken salad and MrC had some
Whaler Boat.
an old whaler boat that is just laying about. olive dish that was the specialty of the place. He said it was great and that he enjoyed it.
After that we went and waved a lot of our family members off at the airport, was lovely just catching up and seeing them off. It was us and another couple from New Zealand, we had fun.
After that MrC and I headed out with our bathers under our clothes and walked all over the convict settlement at Kingston. Took some great shots…what worried me was the morgue was right next to the dissecting room which just happened to be next to the goal kitchen! LOL yes I got photos….. MrC also got an envelope with a heap of things in it regarding Nathaniel Lucas his 6th Great Grandpa from one of the ladies at the museum that was just closing as we reached it.
When we had enough of that and a lot more photo’s we took off for the beach, and yep MrC was the first one in and now I have a photo to prove it!
We were going to go on to the Cemetery then but decided to go home warm up and
MrC
Seeing folks off at the Airport. then head back to the cemetery, so as the sun was setting we started in the old part of the cemetery, yes I got the mounds where the mutineers from the Bounty are buried.
I had a solemn time there looking over the interesting graves, I think MrC got a bit tired and bored but we managed.
Anyway when the sun was going down, we left there and came back to the unit to cook tea, pack and ready ourselves for tomorrows 3 flights home.
I can’t believe that this time tomorrow we will be back in Tasmania!
I have heard a rumour that there will be another reunion but this time they are aiming for Launceston Tasmania…so that will be really good! We have to go and find Olivia's grave site first!
