So begins our Winter Wonderland holiday; so called to get the kids excited about getting away to beautiful Europe full of chateaus, castles and hopefully plenty of snow.



To begin our holiday Nick ended a ten your quest to try the most highly rated beer in the world the Belgian Westvleteren XII. A beer I've been trying to get my hands on since 2006. I received this beer for my birthday in September and have been to paralysed by fear of ending the quest to drink it in a less than perfect way, but what better way to start a wonderful holiday than to conclude a bucket list item and hopefully start on a high note?

The kids are looking forward to Disneyland on our first stop-over in Hong Kong more than anything, for me I suspect they'll love the Chateaus in France more when we dress them up a Princess and a Knight but that remains to be seen.

My main hope for the trip is some fresh falling snow which will be truly magical for the kids for their first time, and Alicia and I are still very partial to the fresh stuff too. It'll make it feel "Christmasy"
Alicia is looking forward to the Kriskindlemarkt- German Christmas markets and general white xmas.

On our last night before travel Roman had a nasty face first fall on the driveway and scored a bleeding nose and a good deal of scratches on the face. He looks a bit banged up!

Ps: The Westy 12 was pretty good. In my top-10% of beers but definitely not the best for mine.
