Day 4 Wednesday 6th July 2011 Griffith to Nyngan

First stop was Rankins Springs where we met some of John’s and/or Greg’s family who’d come into town to see us on our way. Then on to Naradhan where I had a wander round the school where my sister Denise first taught. The old teacher’s residence seems to have been replaced with a newer one, where a carpenter was working on a renovation. The school is looking very smart and seems to be doing quite well. Next stop was at Lake Cargelligo where we easily caught up with the others who’d left us at Naradhan. We continued on through Murrin Bridge and Nymagee, where we met up with Bob and Leonie Donoghue’s cousin Megan, and bought a large container of yummy honey from the local bee-keeper, the cost of which we agreed to share with the Donoghues. Megan, after everyone else had left, made a gift of the honey to Bob, and gave me the money he’d paid to be returned to him. This resulted in some funny moments on the CB a couple of days later when we’d forgotten to give Bob the money! But all was sorted out in the

end. When we arrived at Nyngan, our overnight stop, we met up with Jan and John Brumby who travelled with us for a couple of days. It was good to see them, even if only briefly.
