Our friends Joe and Carolyn picked us up at the house at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6 to drive us to the airport in Vancouver.
It was a good thing we had given ourselves plenty of time because the traffic was backed up as a result of two different accidents on the number 1 freeway.
However, we still arrived 3 hours ahead of departure time, so it was a breeze checking in.
Our flight left Vancouver about 45 minutes late, but they were able to make up the time and landed in Auckland right on schedule.
That was a L-O-N-G flight and we didn't get much sleep.
After a 2 hour lay over in Auckland, we took off for Sydney in the dark and headed West.
Arrived in Sydney right on schedule and were met by Margaret and her son Mark.
We took the scenic route down to Wollongong through the Royal National Park where we went for many picnics and boat rides as kids;
over to Stanwell heights and an awesome view of the coast line and then on to Margaret's beautiful home.
This will be a time of catching up with two of my siblings and several
cousins as well as visiting several of the old haunts.
