After our brief stint in Sydney, we headed up Norah Head on the coast of Newcastle. We just picked Norah Head off a map, but I later realised the reason I picked it was probably because I remembered the name from photo albums of mums, as her, dad and Caitlin had holidayed there in about 1985 with the Leasks.
Anyway, there was only one caravan park in the region, so needless to say we headed there. It was fairly pricey, but it was a gorgeous caravan park. It had all brand new facilites, a jumping pillow and a brand new pool and kids waterfall play area (where we spent most of our time. The pool that is lol :-P).
We started off with the view of staying one night as it was so expensive, and ended up staying 4! It just suited us down to a tee! I spent all my time laying by the pool and in the pool. And Brady spent most of his time at the beach catching some waves, which was only a 450m walk away!
On the first morning we were there, Brady went off for a surf at 6:30am and said he'd

Diggin' himself a hole... be about an hour or so. I woke up at 9:30 and Brady still wasn't home so I freaked out, packed the whole van up, bundled Maxibon up and drove down to the beach where he went to surf. I found him just having a cold shower washing the sand off so I marched off and started on this rant of "I WAS SO WORRIED!! I THOUGHT YOU'D BEEN EATEN BY A SHARK! You nearly gave me a heartattack! How would I have known if you went to hospital!!!"... He just laughed at me lol! So that day, we bought him a waterproof watch hahaha!!
Nothing OVERLY exciting happened in Norah Head, which made it really nice. It was so relaxing! Like a holiday within a holiday! We went into Toukley one day and just did a bit of shopping, hung out at the beach, went down to the boat ramp and did a bit of fishing (but didn't catch anything, surprise surprise), and read a lot of books!
We met some 'older' people who were mostly retired and a part of the Caravan and Camping Association who'd started up there own sector called the "Sydney City Slickers"

...Sittin' in said hole! lol. They were a pretty informative bunch of people who gave us heaps of tips on which places to go visit! One of the guys was a surfer, so needless to say him and Brady talked alot about breaks, and points etc etc lol!
Whilst there, we also met 2 lovely couples from Sydney just camping for the weekend. I went over to their campsite one day because one couple had a campervan like ours with this cool tent like thing over the top of the back door, and I just wanted to know where it was from. Anyway, we got talking and they invited us over for a drink later that night, so we went! Anyway, we got a long really well (even though they were a fair bit older, married with kids and such) and they fed us biscuits and tea and caramel slice.... and then the next night, we all went out to dinner together haha!
It was nice to have some 'friends' for a little while. People we could just hang around with, someone else to talk to besides each other lol!
On the Sunday we decided it was probably time to move

Fishing fishing fishing! on so we packed up the van and headed up north... again.
